I am not sure if this is a mechanical error or due to the update, when I run a auto bed level the nozzle overshoots the bed on the back end of the print bed and then I get a mesh error, it appears that the A1 now is configured for a larger bed size. This also causes the bed to crash hard into the end stops on the front and rear end. Anyone else having problems like this?
I now see that if I bypass the bed leveling I am able to print, it appears that the 0 home point on the Y axis has moved around 2 centimetres to the back of the the print bed. The printer is also printing off the rear of the bed.
I just updated before seeing this post. This is the first time I am having issues.
Bed leveling only probes corners and centre.
Ran a print and had a failure. I cannot revert back since there is no info in the Handy App.
Can any one advise.
Thank you.
I am at a loss not able to explain this. I switched my A1 mini off for 1 hour switched on, ran a calibration and the y axis sensor fault went away. Loaded the speed bench from the SD card selected, bed leveling, flow calibration and AMS, went through all the motions and all is working fine. Bed leveling no problem and 9 min benchy printed in Sport mode almost perfect print with CR Hyper PLA.
Starting to doubt myself did I use an incorrect printer profile??? LOL
I just had the same thing happen; reboot fixed it for me.
No worries; you should not be able to send a print with the wrong printer profile. The printer and Bambu Studio do some checks to prevent you from doing this. (There might still be cases you can get around this.)
It seems that my issue with leveling also went away for now. Printed the Metric Screw file on SD card and it did not level all points. Printed a STL file and same thing. Then printed the flute on the SD card and it went back to normal. All and all maybe 30 minutes passed from first file and one reboot.
I am aware of this. It has always checked 5 points and always performed a full bed leveling. I have always had very good first layer results , except today after the firmware update. After a couple of prints and a reboot, it finally did a full auto bed level. Not sure if this will be the case going forward, but I prefer a full bed level with every print as it has been doing for the last 3 weeks since it arrived. I would have reverted back, but unfortunately, there is no option to do so. No firmware history in the Handy app except what is currently running. I have no way to confirm it was the firmware, but based on my usage, it sure seems so.
I’m thinking i will not do update, except in special circumstances. I’ve ordered my A1 and it should arrive next week. I don’t plan to upgrade unless i find myself having serious issues, or if release notes convince me to upgrade.
If i do update firmware i think it’s a good idea to follow that with a factory reset. It seems that may clean out any junk temp files etc that may cause those issues in the first couple posts of this thread. Seems that a factory reset clears up the issue.
Still though, i don’t plan to apply new firmware updates unless the release notes convince me, or if support suggests it to me in a ticket. Similar to how i deal with computer BIOS updates.
Hopefully bambu will make it possible soon to rollback A1 firmware, similar to P1 and X1 series
hey there since the firmware up date my mini WILL not print first layer it just lays down blob of filiment ,plus it wont even stick to bed ,this thing isnt even 60 days old it was printing perfect till the firmware issue i tryed the handy app it says nothing in the firmware downgrade???i did a reclibration and nothing it wont even print anything that came on the included flash drive
Can you do a factory reset option with the A1? I don’t have my printer yet, but I’m guessing the A1 might have an option for factory reset from the touch screen display somewhere.
That won’t rollback your firmware but it might force it to recalibrate properly on the next power up after resetting.
Bray thanks for replying back, greatly appreciated ,yes i did a reset and it went throught the calibration just fine and there were no errors it just puzzles me cause it printed perfect up till the firmware update, and i only printed 5 small items so far ,i was thinking about taking the hot end apart and checking those screws behind it that a member suggested ,but since i have only printed 5 items cant imagine that being problem???
The issues are back. First print of the day first layer issues, no full bed level, just corners and off centre…
When it does do a full bed level, it prints perfectly. Only since firmware update.
I opened a ticket and submitted logs, video and file I was printing. Supports response was that my bed looks
good and that I should up the flow ratio Doesn’t make sense to me to do that because it only happens when it doesn’t level the bed Any thoughts or recommendations?.
I have noticed my touch screen is freezing and stays lit up, the only way to get the screen active and working is to switch the machine off and back on again. The display part works fine only the touch screen stops working.Working from Bambu Studio or Handy I have no controlling the printer while the touch screen is frozen.
This happens on the A1 as well. Exactly the same behavior.
In my case the support has ghosted me since the day I opened the ticket 10 days ago. Not even an ack.
It would be helpful if we could revert to previous firmware and verify if the behaviour still exists, but not possible at this time. My thoughts are that when it does a full bed level it performs flawlessly. I was told to remove something from the start code, which would make it perform a full bed level every print. See below. I have not tried it yet. This printer is exceptional and I am quite pleased with it. Not having the ability to revert to a previous firmware file concerns me because what if the printer was non functional because of firmware update?
so I was trying to print a fidget spinner but the first layer kept not sticking and the A1 mini didn’t ditect that the filement began to pile up and this is what I returned to the next morning btw this is a school printer it tryed to print over night and the time lapse would not play any idea on how to fix this btw the original file is by g-man
