A1 mini hot end blob - please confirm what to replace

After 2800 hrs on my 1yo A1 mini I got myself a sizeable blob. Yes, I’m the one to blame.

I’m 2/3 done cleaning the PLA off, following the official wiki.

I’m at a point where I wonder if some parts need to be replaced or just cleaned some more.

What’s done:

  1. Removed Part Fan + dremeled off all PLA blob. Looks fine to me.

  2. Moved Hotend Cooling Fan to the side (no damage). I will remove it completely before I finish the clean up to avoid damage from heatgun.

  3. Heated then removed the Nozzle and wiped most of PLA off, but after putting it back to reheat it (oops) I found out it would no longer heat up.

  4. I noticed 4 clipped wires (see pictures) that look like

  • the Hotend Heating Assembly (2 wires in clear plastic)
  • the Eddy sensor wire (2 bare copper wires).

From what I read the Eddy sensor only comes with the Extruder Unit, so this probably needs to be replaced.

I once had to tighten bolts on the back of my Hotend Heating Assembly, so it might be possible to resolder the wires back on.

Replacement parts I already have:
* Extruder Unit
* Part Cooling Fan
* Hotend Heating Assembly
* Hotend Cooling Fan
* Filament Sensor + Base

I could swap the Extruder Unit + Hotend Heating Assembly and try to fix those while my A1 mini is back to work (unless I missed another issue).

I’ve fixed a lot of stuff so I know it’s time to seek input from more experienced users. I would appreciate if someone could please tell me which part should be replaced and the best course of action.

Thanks.

It’s not the Eddy Sensor, it’s the heater & thermistor.
