Hi everyone, I’m having some persistent issues with my A1 mini printer and would greatly appreciate any advice.
The first problem is with wall quality: when printing with marble stone filament, the walls have a rough texture with poor surface quality. I don’t have this issue when printing the same filament on my X1C printer. Lately, in addition to the wall quality issue, I’m also facing frequent filament extrusion problems where the filament stops extruding mid-print.

I’m wondering if this could be due to a clogged nozzle, issues with the extruder gear, or possibly the tension on the XYZ axis belts? I’ve been struggling with this for over a week, and the issues continue to occur.
If anyone has experienced similar issues or has suggestions for troubleshooting, I’d be very grateful for the help.
Thank you in advance!
Hi there. Just asking, are you using the same setting in the A1mini as in the X1C? I am just throwing my opinion in this as i never printed with marble, but i do have some experience with Wood. I do think it might be a nozzle issue, as in material and/or size of it. The A1 Mini comes with stainless steel 0.4 and usually for these materials a 0.6 would make more sense. Also, dont try to print in lower layer lines. I always print mine with a 0.2 ( experimental 0.3 user preset) layer lines.
About the rough texture, i get that in wood when im heating the nozzle more than it needs to be (basically its burning the wood particles and making it more coarse) I would recommend testing with lower temps. Clogs usually happen when the printer extrudes more material than its needed and that material has nowhere to go, so check flow rate as well. (maybe some retraction is needed).
Definitelly try different speed settings, the printer might be vibrating on the table or whatever its placed on.
Do a calibration flow!
Really curious what results you will get
Coming to the end of a 25+kg multi-plate print with PLA marble on my X1, I have found this filament to be pretty easy but susceptible to moisture (stringing, some wall defects, underextrusion in infill when printing at max flow).
It does like to be dried before printing and the default max flow is a bit tight.
0.4mm, 0.6mm, ObXidian all work flawless with this filament down to at least 0.08mm layer height from my experience.
PS: Of course, it is always a good idea to run through the recommended maintenance on the Bambu wiki. If nothing else, it helps with the troubleshooting.

i also think your example is typical of moist filament. something to consider as the seasons change!
