A1 mini spaghetti and other issues after bad clog

Much like this user’s experience, I had my A1 mini and it worked well for about 5 months. Every now, and then we would have adhesion issues, easily fixed by cleaning the bed, or minor issues with filament, but those were easily rectified. I’m having a heckuva time getting my A1 mini to print reliably again after a bad clog. unsure if it’s related, but I noticed that the purge doesn’t work as well as it used to, and sometimes the filament ends up dangling off the wrong end or falling onto the build plate now.

I’m not sure if multiple issues are contributing to my problem. Here’s a close-up where you can see I was able to clean most of the filament off after the clog but some still remains.

I didn’t think it would affect printing though. Also, you can see one of the screws holding the print head is stripped. I’m having a lot of trouble getting that out using the included hex wrench.

Here’s an example of the print issue I’m seeing: A1 mini print issue - Album on Imgur

At first I suspected and adhesion issue so I cleaned the build plate thoroughly and tried a couple of times but no dice. I also tried two different colors of Bambu PLA. And a calibration. The firmware is up to date, and these are prints directly from the printer’s SD card.

1st, you need to put that missing screw back in.
2nd, that purge looked fine to me.
From that video, it looks like an adhesion issue…have you tried the textured plate (Gold)…??

You need to replace at least the heating element. Until I did after the clogging happened print quality was bad. Be aware that the replacement procedure is very finnicky. You can easily damage one of the cables.
