A1 - mounting the spool holder inverted, or on the side or elsewhere?

I just ordered an A1 (no AMS-lite), yay! I was planning to put it on a shelf that has a vertical clearance of around 52cm - that sounds plenty since the printer’s height is only 42cm, but it turns out I didn’t account for mounting the spool holder on top, which seems to add another 20cm of height.

Is there a way to mount the spool inverted, or on the side, or suspend it from the top shelf? Has anyone done this already?

I’ve seen a few parts you can print, but none so far address my specific issue.

BTW, it’s my very first 3D printer so sorry if this is very naive

Welcome!

Maybe this is a possible solution?

Also there is quite a number of alternatives if you search for “A1 spool holder” on makerworld.com, from desk stand to wall mount. I’m sure there is something for your requirements as well.

Thanks for the reply! I did search for A1 spool holder in makerworld, but most solutions were only for A1 mini, so the inverse of what I wanted… I didn’t find this one, so many thanks for the pointer!

I use this one on the side, works like a charm with the A1.External Spool Holder/Stand by Zurlingo-3D - MakerWorld
