Hi, I have a relatively new A1 (<10 hours printing time)
It was working flawlessly whilst I had it indoors, but I recently moved it out to my garage. Since then, almost always without fail, I get a ‘Hotend cooling fan speed is abnormal’ error every time I start a print. I try and manually resume the print and this always sorts itself out after 3 or 4 tries. The fan is definitely working and prints that eventually get started come out just fine.
In the last day or two, I have also occasionally started getting a ‘Z-Axis Homing Failed’. Again, when I restart the print (and sometimes after some more hotend cooling errors), the print will eventually start and print just fine.
The garage is a lot cooler than indoors, so I’m not sure if just some sensor error that’s being affected by the cold?
Re:Temp, I had to pull my A1 that I keep in the garage back into my home when ambient dropped below 45F, it was causing some noise while moving that made me think the oil/grease was not doing its job in the cold. I didn’t get any error messages though.
For the errors: I would flip it over and re-assess how well the USB-C connector on the bottom is plugged in. Make sure that screw is preventing it from pulling out. Be gentle around the connector.
Thanks, I’ll take a look. It just doesn’t make sense that it always starts working eventually after 4-5 restart attempts, then continues to print just fine
