This could be the cause of all my A1 issues. I was looking at the Bambu A1 wiki and they show photos of a properly closed clasp and improperly closed. Mine is the improperly.
I’m on my third heating assembly because a blob destroys them.
I have 3 different nozzles to try. None of them seat properly. The clasp doesn’t close as fully as Bambu says it should. Therefore I think the downward force of extrusion is rocking the nozzle forward and down.
It’s not rocket science…how am I screwing this up? There’s nothing blocking the nozzle. The screws are all tight (including the screws on the back of the heater.)
When I insert the nozzle I have to push it up in order to get the little lip to rest on the shelf of the heater. But after that it feels tight. But the clasps don’t close all the way.
We need pictures to help you. Try to take photos of you’re machine without nozzle, and with nozzle, at differents angles.
Just make sure the clasp is seated correctly and they are not moving around slighly in an up / down motion on the hinges
As you can see, the clasp can’t be closed without forcing it.
This piece should be completely flat, you must have damaged it either with one of your clogs or forcing the nozzle in.
You going to have to buy a new heater, unless someone can tell you how to fix it.
Weird, it looks a bit crooked. As you can see from my machine, and as @lion7718 said, it looks like the part on the back is damaged.
I have a brand new heater and brand new nozzle and the clasp doesn’t close. Both are Bambu.
Lift up slightly on the spring part (right side) and then try to close.
Yes, fooling with the clasps vertically did the trick. Also, I put my used nozzle next to my new nozzle, and it’s bent. You can’t tell unless you’re comparing it to a new one. So it’s going in the trash and I ordered two new ones.
Thanks for the troubleshooting! If only I could have saved my poor plate.

Installed the new heater and nozzle. Exact same situation. Nozzle looks crooked and can’t latch. I’m baffled.
Then your not installing the nozzle correctly.
Before you latch it, you have to lift the nozzle up slightly until it pops in place.
You might have to remove the 2 little screws just above the nozzle to understand how it fits.
Well. One of the heater wires strayed from the rest. Instead of being behind the little white tab it was pinched between the heater and the extruder. Fixed that and the nozzle seats perfectly.
