A1 Problem

So my problems started today when the printer was saying the AMS slot 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 (all 4) filaments were tangled or stuck (trying all of them and same problem) I thought the AMS was at fault first but it wasn’t as I removed the AMS and run via the free standing single spool which you use if you do not have an AMS system. Same problem.

If I manually heat the nozzle to 250 and then extrude over 30 times using the touchscreen it is feeding fine. So the filament is feeding manually… but it seems the automation will not run the extrusion. Can you help me?

I have tried to clean the nozzle using my cleaning tool, that didn’t fix it, I then removed the 0.4mm nozzle and installed the 0.2mm nozzle I also ordered, same problem so it is not the nozzle being clogged.

I took the front of the head apart, and checked the yellow gear is going round which is it, I have removed and reinstalled the cutting tool to ensure it is cutting and it is fine. I have removed the 4 nozzle intake module at the top of the print head and cleaned it and reinstalled it, and still the same problem. I cannot get this fixed at all.

I set the hot end to 250 degrees manually and extruded the filament on its own and it is working fine doing it manually. But it seems when the printer is automating it it gives the error every time now which is “Failed to extrude the filament. This might be caused by clogged extruder or stuck filamant. Refer to the Assistant for a solution [1200-8007 110331]”
What could be the problem? I’ve only had the printer a few days. I feel really disappointed with this, I was excited to get into the world of 3D printing and now I’ve left with a printer that I have spent over 6 hrs today trying to resolve and wasted a load of filament trying to fix it. I have extruded a good few hundred grams of filament manually tryingt o get this working and have not been able to fix it. You can see in one of my photos I have mounted the seperate spool holder and not using the AMS to ensure its not the AMS causing the problems, and it is not.

Can I return the printer for a replacement? It is only 4 days since I took delivery for it from bambulabs UK site. (note the printer was fine the first 2 days of using it)

This is the error I’m getting.

But when I manually fed the filament in, and then set the hot end manually to 250 and just used the extruder insert button on the printer it shows its not clogged, and can take the filament etc. I don’t know what else to try?

Full disclosure: I do not have an AMS so I dont know if this will make sense.

Can you Manually feed filament through the individual PTFE tubes?
Will it feed without the PTFE tubes?
Does the AMS feed the filament to the print head?
Will it extrude from the single (external) spool?
Does it make a difference if you plug the AMS into the other port?

Good luck!

I pretty sure this is your issue, Step 3 & 4.

Step 3. Disassemble the Filament Hub

Can you Manually feed filament through the individual PTFE tubes? YES
Will it feed without the PTFE tubes? NO
Does the AMS feed the filament to the print head? YES
Will it extrude from the single (external) spool? NO
Does it make a difference if you plug the AMS into the other port? NO

I pretty sure this is your issue, Step 3 & 4.

Step 3. Disassemble the Filament Hub

I have checked the filament hub and it is clear.

I have tested that the sensor works by manually pushing in filament like this and the green dot goes on and off fine.

Here are some more videos which outline the problem better.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have a similar problem and I am following your same list of items.

Thanks in advance!

Thet appear to be communication errors most of the time , but a simple fix is to make sure you have the correct ptfe tubes in the correct positions , as you wil notice they are cut to length for the ams being used in its correct position
