We just got our printer was working great then the last few days it just stops printing but says it’s successful. Any help would be most appreciated.
A little more info would be helpful. Type of printer to start off with and more details about the issue. From what you have said I would first try another SD card if you have a P or A series printer.
Sorry about that, we have an A1
We’ve had our printer about a week and have had successful prints probably close to a dozen with no issues. However we’ve also had about 5-7 that stop printing at the end, they do not finish the last part of the print yet the device says print was successful. When this occurs the filament is also stringing off to the side. For instance, a small dragon stopped printing the top of the head and the horns.
Last night we tried again printed two small items all with same filament no issues, then the 3rd small item- an eel from the app did the same thing, it cut off the top of the fins and filament stringing.
We have primarily been printing using the app. We do have the original SD card in it, we have not tried that. We did turn off the time lapse camera as that was something we read as possible issue.
Which version of bhandy you using ? i had an update for mine recently
With timelapse use the smooth option with the prime tower enabled
My version of the app is the 2.12.0
Thank you. We did turn off the time- lapse before our last print and it did the same issue of printing most of the model, stating completed but then the filament is stringing
yes it failed , which usually means its moved and the printer continued until it finished
We’d had the time lapse completely off when we attempted the last, eel.
The A1 will continue to go through the motions of extruding and printing even though the object has moved or been displaced, until the print finishes or is stopped / cancelled
I get that, but we’ve not moved or stopped the print. We get an alert stating it’s finished successful and when we go in we’ve found it to be not complete. I can see previously the time lapse maybe being the issue but we completely turned it off and still had the issue- I’m unsure what would be moving/disrupting at that point.
We’ve seen mention of camera use at all last night we may have turned on the camera on so I’m wondering if that caused it.
I appreciate your help, we’re trying to resolve this with my son so your information has been useful.
this will give a succesful alert , because as far as the printer is concerned it has been successful and finished
I’m having the same issue with files on the maker’s place. They will say that the job is complete, however they’re not. I am wasting so much filament and regretting buying this machine
Ya mine will just stop moving but claim it’s still printing until the time runs out and be like “yay success” leaving a mess of drool from sitting in one spot while heated and a half finished print
I’ve had similar issues with my a1 and a1 mini. At first I had my mini in a side room of my car port and moved it inside to monitor. After that I stopped having the issue. I just recently started having the same problem with my a1 on the last 3 prints I’ve started. Print will make it about 15-20% without issue and then all of a sudden it just stops extruding the filament with no errors.
The two things I’ve seen elsewhere is a possible partial clog in the extruder, and the environment your printing in. Is the room the printer is in controlled by ac/heat?
Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I am having the same issues with my month-old A1. Printing indicates completion, but the top layers of the model are not present. There is a little bit of stringing, but surprisingly not much; it’s as if the printer just leaves out the code for the final layers. Timelapse is off, was never on.
I have a similar issue. For me it happens on all printings that are longer than 5 hours. After this time head is just moving as usual but does not use the filament. And in the end says that the “print was successful”. Right after that item with 2-3-4 hours prints successfully, and than again fail on printing longer than 5 hours.
It started after 2 months of use.
I am commenting as I am also experiencing this issue. I have 3 different A1s running but it only appears to happen on a certain machine. No idea why its happening.
I have had success with files and failures with files, but it’s frustrating because it feels like a ■■■■-shoot as to which one will work.
Print starts, goes as normal, nothing breaks or moves on plate, printer says the job is complete with missing top layers. Sometimes there’s up to 3 hours left on the print.
For records sake, this just happened to me on a 5 hour 12 minute print. So maybe it does have something to do with the 5 hour threshold.
I say this, but I also completed a 20 hour print on this machine the day before.
No idea what’s going on.
usually the filament sensor not kicking in properly; sometimes it happens due to dust or fragments of filament blocking it so the printer thinks its still printing.
if you rotate the spool so that there is a twist in the filament it can cause stress which makes it break off on the inside but still appear loaded.
next time this happens give your filament a gentle tug without unloading it first. if it retracts freely and you can pull it out it absolutely means the printer still thought it was loaded and something blocked the sensor
i have this happen the most when i run out of filament. its a pretty common printer woe and you’ll see people blaming either the little L shape at the end of a spool or a small piece of tape.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, I JUST REPLACED THE SD CARD WITH A CLASS 10.
I BELIEVE THIS ERROR IS CAUSED BY A CORRUPT OR VERY FULL CARD.
I FORMATTED THE SD CARD AS THE FIRST OPTION.
NO FAILURES SINCE I CHANGED THE SD CARD
