Lately my Bambu Labs A1 will put the display to sleep and start pulsing its power indicator but then wonât âwake upâ when I tap the display.
The display works just fine and while it is âawakeâ is recognizing being touched! While itâs âawakeâ I can fully navigate around with the display. It just wonât âwake upâ if itâs already âasleepâ.
To make things even stranger, the printer will still accept print jobs from Bambu Studio and Bambu Handy even if itâs âasleepâ. But even accepting, starting, printing, and fully completing a print job will not wake it up! It still thinks itâs âasleepâ (pulsing power light and display off) the whole time.
Once itâs âasleepâ, the only thing that will âwake it upâ is turning it off and back on again.
Normally you wake it up by just tapping on the screen. But that doesnât seem to work anymore. And, yes, the screen still works just fine - when itâs already awake.
Okay but how are you getting the screen to wake up? Are you restarting the printer to get the screen to respond? Or are you sending a job to the printer and that wakes up the screen?
Have you updated the firmware recently? Howâs the health of the printerâs SD card? Somewhere in this community thereâs a post about this exact thing, and the fix was to use a good working SD card.
Iâm having the same problem. The screen will not wake up no matter how many times I tap on it or if I restart it still doesnât help yet Iâm able to print through the app still did you find out what the issue is or is there a fix for it?
For curiosity sake, do people with screen wake up problems have screen protectors installed or printed modifications around the screen such as covers or âbumpersâ?
To my knowledge, this is not been resolved. And Iâm seeing a lot of other people out on Reddit who are having the same problem. To add a new wrinkle it seems that the screen isnât going to sleep so much as it is freezing. Iâve had it freeze with whatever it was displaying last. Never updating. Not responding. Nothing, until I turn it off and then back on again.
