A2L AMS Lite frequently complaining about stuck filament

I have an A2L that is 2 days out of the box. I’ve made about 5 prints with it so far, and in the last two I have run into an issue with the AMS Lite. About every 1-2 hours it complains that the filement in position 1 is stuck and pauses. In every case so far (5-6 times), the filament is free and clear and all I have to do to resolve the issue is to click the button that says “Resolved (continue…)” and it starts back up. But this means that the print that was supposed to take 16 hours is now set to complete over 24 hours after it started. I can’t be babysitting this printer constantly. My other two printers don’t have this problem.

Is there a tweakable parameter as to how “stuck” it needs to think it is before it pauses and asks for help?

I just realized while watching it, that it frequently “swaps” the filament (unload and reloads), even though it is a single color print and isn’t actually swapping the filement, just unloading the reloading the same filament.

If the AMS was working fine before and is now causing problems, I’d start by checking to see if your setup is correct:

  • Are the tubes really inserted all the way? This is one of the most common problems.
  • Make sure the tubes are cut straight, not at an angle.
  • The tubes are different lengths; make sure you’ve placed them correctly.
  • The bending radius of the tubes shouldn’t be too sharp; make sure they’re laid out properly.
  • If you used old tubes instead of new ones.

Only then would I continue with troubleshooting.
