Brand new A2L with a homing-Y axis issue. Had printer 1 for about 3 weeks and then started getting this Y-axis issue. Been talking to support and they sent me a new one as they said the motor was bad. So I have a another new A2L and now after about 40hrs, I am seeing the same error again. Its always the Y axis it seems. The plate will move all the way forward or back and then make a horrible noise as the motor just grinds away. There are not obstructions at all, no poop under the plate etc.
I think that this is a software/firmware issue now I have seen it on two units. Both running the initial 1.0 firmware release.
I can’t be the only one with this issue? Am I?
I have no idea about programming/software/firmware but I’m thinking you’re on to something.
I recently went to school with a sledgehammer (yes, because that’s how I am) on my A1. Had 2500 hours on it and then had a nozzle heating issue. Fixed that and immediately had a Y-axis issue right after. Every attempt to fix this led me to the sledgehammer.
Would love for the knowledgeable to give their ideas as to why this occurs.

Same here, on firmware 01.01.00.00…after about 60h printing, it started giving me randomly the same issue (Ofc nothing is interfering with Y rails or with the sensor ). Last time i had to factory reset the printer cause i wasn’t been able to print at all, but the issue came again…Next time it stucks, i’ll just try a new calibration, but it’s getting annoying…
Sorry to hear, but glad I am not alone. They they want to me take the underside apart and see if the cable is loose for the Y-axis motor.
I was asked by Bambu to check the y-axis motor wiring harness connection under the bottom of the machine. All looked ok and I put it all back together, but since this check I have not had an issue since. Maybe 40-50 hrs of printing. Bambu has sense sent me a new y-axis motor to replace mine, but so far things are good again. It could have just been a poorly connected motor from the factory.
