Ability to skip parts on reprints!

Drives me nuts how you cant skip parts on prints instigated via the printer itself and reprints.

So the root of the issue is how printers store past print data - all of the distinct object data is stripped away and the G-code is compressed into a single block.

I expect this is to reduce the size of the file being stored - and on older printers that’s probably still a valid concern.

Heck, memory is insanely expensive right now, I’d argue nobody wants to be storing files any bigger than absolutely necessary.

The other thing - if you’re skipping parts, you most likely either have a dirty bed, or wet filament. It’s far better to address the root cause of the issue rather than propose an elaborate, far-ranging change that will reduce how many prints all machines can keep in memory.

Also - if you’re frequently reprinting the same thing, have you tried putting it directly on the memory stick/card from Bambu Studio and then putting that storage in the machine and printing from there?

Hi, yeah I do clean the plates etc. Its just that I print quite a few things off in batches, some with small pieces, so often one or two of the parts fail at some point regardless.

Thanks for explaining

Try loading those prints directly from a stick/microSD, let me know what you find out please!
