ABS on A1 Mini - not able to set up bambu studio

Hello,

I purchased Bambu ABS for my A1 mini and wanted to print on it. First of all the AMS do not recognise the spool and it’s impossible to setup on the slicer.

Tried to add it manually and it was impossible because if you want to add ABS on the studio it tells you that there isn’t any preset available.

Any hint on this? How did you guys managed to print ABS on the A1 Mini.

I know it’s not recommended but I have mine inside an enclosure and I think it’s possible.

Bambu removed the ABS preset from Bambu Studio. So now, you have to create your own. Also, you can no longer use Print Plate or you will get an error, you will have to Send File or put it on the SD Card.
I have done this for ASA without any issues.
Remember, when you create your filament preset, the bed can not go past 80* or you will get an error.

Thanks Lion!

So I have to create a new filament profile, ok but using the AMS, how do I set it as ABS?

And also when creating a new filament profile I cannot select ABS, so I have to select PLA and set the printing temperature higher… right?

It’s easier just to change a preset.
Use any of the filament profiles, change a setting & hit Save…it will save as PLA-COPY
Now use that to change to the setting that you want them to be.
Once that’s done, click Save & change PLA-COPY to ABS.
Then you can delete the PLA-COPY.

Welcome to the forum.

I’m new in to print. Have bought ABS filament but in my filament list a dont have a setting for ABS. Can help ?

Which printer do you have?

I know we have a lot of new users, and I’m really not trying to rain on anyone’s parade… but if you’re going to print ABS on an un-enclosed printer (A1/A1 Mini) please at least read this first…

Bambu Lab A1 Mini and im using de Bambu studio.

Printing ABS on a A series is not recommended.

There is plenty of information in this thread if you decide not to heed that recommendation.

Yes, but i already but the filament :smiling_face_with_tear: I didn’t want it to be wasted

Just hold onto it until you get an ABS-safe printer. As long as you can dry it out once in a while, it’ll probably be good until then.
