Access Code always needs to be re-entered

I’ve got a new P1S and in LAN mode, everyday I need to re-enter the access code:

Why is that? I’m using Bambu Studio Version 1.9.2.57.

Any ideas? It still asks me every time for the Access Code.

Having the same issue since latest updates

I am also having the same issue. Has anyone found a resolution?

It’s gotten awfully uncomfortable, I agree. I used to enter the code once every six months

I need to re-enter passcode on my A1 printer every time I use it in LAN mode. Sometimes I need to re-enter during a print if my computer went to sleep mode.

It doesn’t seem to work correctly. Surely I would only need to enter the code once, and never deal with it again.

For LAN mode, OrcaSlicer is the better option right now. I found BambuStudio to have a very clunky implementation of LAN mode printing. ie Every time you switch to the device tab the printer is deselected, and sometimes for no reason you are asked to re-enter the access code. Even though the serial numbers and access codes are stored in the config.json file. There is really no reason for this, besides them wanting to make it worse experience in LAN mode. At least the Orca team listen to user user feedback, where bambu seem to be too busy policing makerworld instead of doing something of value:)

Im glad Im not the only one! I assumed that I was doing something wrong on my a1 mini… there’s no way I should have to type in an access code every time I want to print something. But it looks like there’s others that have the same issue. Im not interested in using any cloud service, so is this our only choice right now?

I’m using the dev version of OS and haven’t had any issues yet with stability
If it does crash, well no biggie cos bambustudio still crashes too.

It’s makes using 2 printers on LAN mode a much smoother experience.

It is problem that exists like forever and Bambu does not seem to have the right interest in providing a WORKING solution.
I am at the point of considering selling my P1S and to never go with Bambu again.
Too much wasted time, too many hassles, no solutions.

I noticed the access code is stored in the studio config file and if wrong/missing editing this file does help a little bit.
Won’t mean though Studio won’t just randomly forget the access code, refuse to connect using the right access code or just randomly disconnect from the printer.
Consider this:
YOU paid a lot of money for your printer.
But it is utterly useless without an account and binding the printer and Studio/Handy to it.
You can’t even set it up with out all this.
In reality you only paid a lot of money to lease a printer and to gain the right to use it - you don’t actually own the printer, Bambu does.
Security to the max - FOR WHAT in a private network, in a dedicate network for just printing needs ?
And this sort of security with all the calling home in a company environment where the security of the network might be paramount ???
All while a simple Ethernet cable would do the trick without any of this nonsense ?
Just saying…
And for the useless bot patrol: Feel free to find my post offensive as it seems the bots can handle the truth…

I haven’t seen the code re-entry issue yet, but I’ve definitely seen this over and over. Very annoying! Not to mention the (lack of) wired connection issue.

It’s too bad these slicers weren’t written in a more productive language (there’d probably be a patch by now otherwise).

If Orca slicer works better doing this, I think that confirms that it’s not a firmware issue on the printer side. Hmm…

I started having problems with this and it’s inconvenient every 5 minutes to update this.

If this works correctly in Orca, but is broken in Bambu Studio…

I wonder how hard it’d be to use Orca’s code as a reference to fix this, since Orca was forked from a version of Bambu Studio.

Probably very simple, but do they want to?
If adding filament shrinkage is anything to go by, then expect to wait a year for it.
I’ve been asking for them to fix the dark mode colours for the text in the object list and various popup dialogs in the linux build for as long, and I still have blank popups. So I wouldn’t hold my breath. The implementation of the text tool is orca is so much better as well. I see no reason to use bambustudio anymore as I no longer upload to makerworld anymore.

I won’t argue that LAN mode seems to get little attention.

That’s a really strong endorsement though. I was worried maybe it doesn’t support “things” or “stuff” that Studio has, which I might need. Hmm…

When I add an ai mini to Orca 2.2.0 I dont see a wifi option next to the printer like I do for my Ender 3v3. I assume that’s different on your 2.3.0 dev version?

I don’t think Bambu printers show the wifi symbol, you need to select it on the device tabon the left it should be in the list (or when you try to send a print). I did notice that none of the printers were showing when I used 2.2.0 on my Mac. Something must have changed in V2.3.0 dev to make it see them.

Ah alright, It asked to install a network plug in, i did, and now I can go to the device page where I can add a printer. However, I can only add by pin code! I dont have a pin code, only an access code haha aye aye aye

Just started having this problem after upgrading the P1S firmware to 1.07.00.00 (running Bambu Studio 1.10.01.50). Yet another annoyance when running LAN Only Mode. I just copied all the printer access codes down on a sticky note next to my work PC and re-enter them every time Bambu Studio drops them. Pretty much after every other print. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Just a quick follow-up, this seemed to have fixed the issue. We’ll see how long it lasts.

In Windows editing the file: “C:\Users%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\BambuStudio.conf”

In section “access_code”, confirm ACCESS CODE for each printer is correct (by serial number)
AND
Search for the line “user_access_code”
Correct the ACCESS CODE part in: “PRINTER_ID”: “ACCESS CODE” if needed
