Adaptive outer wall print speed for consistent layer time

Not sure if this is a good idea or not but here we go:

Problem: Visual defects/layers

Cause: Seems like these variations comes from big variation in layer time

Possible solution: Have a layer time smooth function in the slicer so it slows down/up gradually around big steps in layer time.

Goal: This speed view would look more like the layer time view and layer time view more like this speed view.

Did you ever find a solution here? I’m facing the same problem.

Half the outer wall speed sometimes help a bit and don’t add that much time. Probably more stuff that could help but haven’t tested, minimum layer time, or modifyers might work.

Guys, probably the problem you are having, is the minimum layer time. The outerwall speed, has to be cinsistent, unless: 1 - there is some sort of bridge or something, that needs to slow down so it prints ok. 2 - minimum layer time will be reached, so the speed will be lowered down to meet that setting. What you should do is, or print the whole voluem at a lower out wall spedd, to be consistent, and get same look and feel over the wqhole wall, or minimize the minimum layer time to avoid that. When you print small objects, or objets with small parts, or that print fast, otger option will be to print somethintg else far away in the bed, so you help to reach that minimum layer time, and asvcoid this issues. I think this might help you.
