Add a Custom Print Speed Percentage Option Alongside Existing Presets

Currently we have the Silent, Standard, Sport and Ludicrous speed presets, which work well and should remain exactly as they are.

I would like to request an additional “Custom” speed option that allows the user to enter a percentage manually (for example 75%, 90%, 105%, 110%, etc.).

Some examples where this would be useful:

  • Slowing a print down for the first layer and first few layers, then increasing the speed slightly once adhesion is confirmed.
  • Increasing print speed by a small amount (e.g. 5% or 10%) where Sport mode is too large of a jump.
  • Fine-tuning print speed for difficult materials or large prints without having to edit the print profile.
  • Reducing print time slightly while staying within the capabilities of a particular filament.

The existing presets should remain available as one-touch options, but a Custom button would provide much greater flexibility for users who want to make smaller adjustments during a print.

Suggested implementation:

  • Keep Silent, Standard, Sport and Ludicrous unchanged.
  • Add a Custom option.
  • Allow entry of a percentage value (for example 25%–200%) or provide a slider.

This would be a simple quality-of-life improvement and provide much finer control than the current fixed presets.

I like this idea. I’d like to see this on bambu studio, handy, and also on the device screen.

I would also love to have options like the “sport” setting available to save as a preset.

I print a lot of TPU material and the best setting I’ve had so far for clean prints, is some adjustments to filament settings, but also using the “sport” speed mode.

I tried to mimic this by saving a custom “process”. Adjusting speeds and accelerations by 124%. But it didn’t increase the speed any. Must have been capped by the volumetric setting. Increasing the volumetric setting allowed speed to increase, but print quality went back down. i also tried modifying the g-code with M220 S124, added in several places) but again must’ve been capped, and no change.
