Add another AMS Lite to the A1

W\Is Bambu Labs going to add a 2nd AMS Lite to the A1 and allow us to print 8 colors in the future

Must say no printing issues yet using Generic Profiles for my PLA filament after the update. I will run a filament temperature tower and flow calibration on a couple of different filaments tomorrow and see how it goes. So far all is good on the Southern front.

JCJAHNER - all of the posts from BL in regards the AMS lite unit keep to the same line, only one AMS lite can be used at a time. If you want to print more than 4 colours get yourself a P1S or a X1 with up to 4 AMS units.

Why is there two ports on the back of the A1 and they are both active if they are not going to support 2 AMS lites on a A1?

Maybe for future updates? It’s a BUS Port so maybe later there will be more/different devices… mayba a rfid reader/writer?

@DeweyCox I was thinking the same thing! Right now Bambu Labs is being coy; according to the FAQ

Has anyone TRIED to hook up a 2nd AMS-Lite to the A1? I wonder if it MIGHT work, although that may not be allowed by the firmware. Possibly, if the firmware was modified, it might be able to do so. I suspect Bambu is considering that for the future, but just hasn’t figured out how to specify in the firmware which unit is which based solely on which plug it’s connected to, since both are currently seen as the same. Hopefully, they’ll get it figured out, and make a firmware update available that will allow the use of 2 AMS-Lite units with the A1/A1-Mini.
