Add the ability to edit unused AMC slots during printing

Why has the A1 series printers been able to edit threads in the AMC slots for almost a year when printing the printer, while the H2 series printers lack this functionality? Is it really that hard to implement.

Has there ever been such a situation - there is a long printing process and you discover that there may not be enough plastic on the current coil and you do not have the opportunity to monitor the printer when the plastic runs out. The solution to the problem is simple - install a second plastic coil in the adjacent AMC slot and set it up as the current one. But this option is only possible on A1 and A1 mini. This procedure cannot be performed on older versions.

I have no problem with my HD2 to switch from Slot 1 to Slot 2 of the AMS during a print if Slot 1 is empty.
Before starting to print, I have to configure both slots with the same filament and in the print Dialog of Bambu Labs Studio, I activate automatic Filament swap if empty. It also shows me to which slot it will swap.
If I understand your question correctly, this is what you are looking for.

Maybe you should explain in more detail what you mean?

  • AMC? - Do you mean AMS?
  • edit threads? - Do you mean the filament?
  • coil? - Do you mean the filament spool?

Could it be that your translation program went wild?

I think you mean that, once a spool is empty, the next one should be used. All AMS systems can do that. It doesn’t matter which printer you use. It’s one of the reasons people buy an AMS.

Otherwise, please explain exactly what you mean.

I also have no problem editing the information in the slot before printing. But when printing has already started on all printer series except A1, it is impossible to change the information about the type of plastic, its manufacturer and color. On A1 series printers, you can edit information in slots that are not currently in use by the printer.
I am interested in implementing the functionality of A1 series printers on H2 series printers.

I also have no problem changing slots when they are pre-edited before printing. But it happens that you incorrectly took into account the remaining plastic and did not first load the same plastic into another AMS slot. What to do in this case? Should I sit at the printer and wait until the plastic runs out, and then insert a new spool into this slot? Or it’s easier to put a new spool in the next slot, edit the type of plastic and go about your business, rather than meditate over the printer waiting for the spool to run out.
