Would like to request a feature to add notes within Bambu Studio within each build plate. I often find the need track notes within my projects and sometimes specific to each build plate (e.g. reminders of settings that worked, didn’t work, post processing notes etc). Maybe this could be like another tab on the build plate view. Would also like to be able to show/hide them.
I keep a text file in the model folder for just this reason.
Not in Studio, and saved per project not per plate, but OrcaSlicer will save notes:
Cool. Hey, @Bambulabs, can you make this work for Studio per my OP?
There is a tiny notes field hidden on the bottom of the “other” tab. It only shows two lines at a time and cannot be made bigger.
Yes, Studio added the notes feature in public beta version 1.9.0 beta on March 25 this year.
I still prefer the OrcaSlicer implementation, which is not buried deep in the profile, making it easier to access and harder to miss.
I have my first printer P1S combo for 4 weeks now. If it bothers me enough then I might just make the field bigger myself and compile my own Bambu Studio.
I’d encourage anyone that wants this to comment on the feature request in GitHub: issue# 3927 (I can’t link yet because my account is too new)
Sorry for the necro post, but now in April 2025, Bambu studio ver.2.01.50 has notes section in the “others” tab
Thank you!! Just found it
I am new, I tried searching the forum for “notes” … and got too any results, then no results and almost gave up. Then I went to the specific “software” category and tried some of the filter settings next to search and found this thread- maybe that will help someone else. Thank you!!
There is a work around …sort of:
- Right click somewhere on the screen and select “Add Primitive”
- Select “Cube”
3)With the newly created cube selected go to “Scale”, make sure “uniform scale” is not selected and flatten the cube into a flat surface as well as adjust the size as needed. - Use the “Text Shape” tool to add text on top of the surface.
The benefit here as you can see from the example image is that you can add specific notes that are highly visible right there with your model as needed.
It would be much better to have a dedicated notes tool that allowed for notation within the build plate area but this is the next best thing!
