Additional single external spool was added by AMS software

After a couple weeks with the AMS and Printer turned off I returned to printing objects. New updates were installed. All the installed spools were identified correctly. After slicing the part Tried to send it to the printer but that failed. Error message was the exit chute was full of waste, false statement. Tried again and the selection of the spool to print was grayed out. In fact all but number ? was grayed out. However a fifth spool was noted with a “?” and it was not identified as to type or color. I discovered it was the single spool location on the back of the printer. This is strange since that location was never used from new and there is no reason for it to be identified. Now I am unable to print from any spool until this spool location is deleted. I have tried to do so but met with an error stating I need to load or unload the filament first. That is impossible since there is no spool or holder attached to the machine, only the one AMS unit. Trouble ticket is requiring too much info unrelated to the problem. May need to send it back soon if not fixed.

This may shed some light on the mystery.

You cannot delete a particular spool position. The external spool was added with the latest firmware update to make loading and unloading filament from an external spool easier, and the better represent that filament in the slicer.

To delete the AMS positions, just unplug it. Once to clear a filament jam that would not reset I had to unplug the AMS, reboot the printer, then plug the AMS back in to get everything to clear. Normally, just rebooting the printer via the back panel power switch is enough to clear most conditions, and causes the printer to re-read spool info from the AMS.
