Adhesion issue or something else, take a look

I’ve tried the flow rate calibration, one square didn’t make it. I picked the 5 for a filament preset. (1st sample, 2nd row )This happens with a generic pla preset as well. I’ve increased first layer height from 0.2 to 0.4, still no luck.

I haven’t used one side of the print plate yet so I flipped it over and this is still happening on a new build plate surface. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

Have you tried washing the plate with warm water and dish soap (Dawn)? Make sure not to touch the printing area after you wash it. The oil from your fingers can cause the adhesion issues you’re seeing.

Another thing to try is to up the bed temperature 5-10 c.

Did you choose the right build plate for the calibration? Happened to me and looked similar.

I recommend the washing with soap and I apply a light coat of hairspray. Its worked for me for years. Just don’t spray with the plate on the printer, and wash the residue after a few prints.

Thanks for the welcome.

Sadly, those pictures are just after a warm dawn bath.

Yes I had the textured PEI plate selected for the flow rate calibration.

I’m going to crank up the bed temp and report back

I had read about glue sticks and hairspray. I though these newer printers had advanced beyond that but I may resort to it. I’m wondering if it’s this cheap blue pla filament I got from amazon made by peakace but it’s been happening with other filaments too; just less often.

I wanted to report back and say that increasing bed temp from 60c to 65c made the difference. I was able to complete the print successfully. This is all pretty new to me so thank you to everyone for all your suggestions

I had a big problem getting prints to stick to the textured plate. Even after washing with detergent, then wiping with IPA, PLA would not stick well. One day, I was handling my smooth PEI plate, when I noticed that just a slight brush on the plate with my finger left an oil residue on the plate. Since then, I wear cotton cloves anytime I handle a plate, and I haven’t had any failures. Honestly, I don’t know for sure if it’s the cotton gloves or something else that has made adhesion better, but I’m not taking any chances.

Frist do what @JonRaymond said then put on hairspray
