Adjust size of print bed?

I have been using Cura since I started 3D printing but have switch to Bambu Studio so when I get my X1C I am familiar with it. The question is if I can manually change the bed size for the Ender 3 printer profile. I see a height adjustment but not for x,y. I think Bambu Studio is compensating for the clips that hold the build plate to the bed but I need that extra space to slice files that I use to slice in Cura.

Thanks

I have not tested this out but the settings are buried in a little-used area.

  1. Click on the printer settings Icon
  2. Then in Printer Settings click on printable area

Then from there you’ll have access to the bed shape and size.

Good Luck

That is where I looked before but mine does not show the “Printable area” selection for any printer I change to.

Here is the P1P to compare to your image also.

Even if I search the settings, these are the only results.

Hopefully it isnt something simple I am over looking, that would be embarrassing. Also I seen from your picture that there is a dark mode so thank you for that

Well now… I just learned something new. It looks like we are both going to walk away from this head-scratcher with more tribal knowledge than we came in with.

Sorry for the confusion, I misunderstood your original post. I don’t use Bambu Studio. Most of us I believe use Orca Slicer which is a fork of Bambu Studio with more features. It would never had occurred to me that there such a feature would be missing in Bambu Studio but I opened both up and there is was, not in Bambu put present in Orca. :exploding_head::boom: Who would have thought that was the case?

Screenshot from Orca Slicer selecting Creality Ender 3 to prove that the feature is in fact in Orca,

So at the end of the day. If you want to come up to speed on the software, you can easily do this using Orca. Truth be told, I spend about a week with Bambu Studio and then download Orca. I gave them equal time and Orca just has way too many great features such as baked-in calibration which I frequently use.

So the answer here should be obvious, try out Orcas and you be the judge. BTW: You can interchange 3MF files between the two slicer’s most of the time but not always.

Good luck and let us know if you are successful.

Thank you so much for you help and quick responses. I sliced the object in Orca, it fit on the plate with 5mm to spare around the sides and is going great. Looks like I will be using Orca for future prints. Always nice to figure something out that you didn’t know before!
