Never limit your outlook on life.
I feel the urge to create 10 other accounts just so I can report AI models without photos. Why not one account? Because it would crash from the amount of reports.
Good morning,
First of all, I would like to briefly introduce myself. I am a long-time user of Makerworld and have had numerous accounts on the platform. Over time, I have witnessed various episodes, including favoritism towards certain users and retaliation by others who enjoy reporting profiles in an unjustified or undeserved manner.
Recently, I have delved into the world of artificial intelligence and must admit that I have found it rewarding. However, I wonder what the issue is with using artificial intelligence.
Allow me to provide an example that I believe is relevant. Imagine I am a farmer who needs to plow my fields. If I use a hoe, will my products be better and sell for a higher price? Or, if I use a tractor, will my products be worse? In this context, I am merely adopting a different method of working, or rather, a different tool. Naturally, results vary depending on each individual’s preparation and competence.
Additionally, I would like to highlight another aspect: how many of those who use software like ZBrush or similar actually possess the necessary licenses? And those who use Fusion for free shouldn’t share their work commercially, even if it’s free.
In conclusion, I wish those who find time to hinder people sharing their intellect in different ways, to find a more fulfilling purpose in life.
We have been talking about the misuse of AI, not people who support favoritism or random profile banning.
But what if a farmer posted pictures of another farmers corn online, then when people purchased it he sent them a basket full of sticks that were roughly the same size and shape as corn?
There’s the analogy I was looking for!
Why numerous accounts? One was not enough?
Rewarding because it’s easy right? And there is no issue with using AI at all. I think you didn’t read or understand the real problem in this topic.
That’s up to you, the end user that uses those tools. And yes, your products will come out better and tastier if you know what you are doing. Mixing AI and knowledge is what makes good products. But again, that is not the real issue since AI is a tool only. Check the topic in detail if you feel lost.
By hinder, you mean trying to protect ourselves and others from wasting filament, eletricity costs and time because what is shown with AI is not at all what is modeled in 3D? Because that is the real issue here.
Picking on your example: You send a picture of a nice yellow Banana to the supplier that will buy tons of them from you. He sees the picture and “wow, i’ll buy a ton of them”, based on what he saw. Instead you deliver rocks and the supplier that already paid for what you showed him and even agreed, based on the pictures, will have to stay quiet and at a loss. That’s it?! Money lost for him but your own pockets full for what in reality is called a scam. Is that what you mean? That is called a scam in my book.
Anyway, a person who states that he has “numerous accounts in the platform” and creates an account with IA in the name (In some languages is AI) just for commenting this topic, is already suspicious enough and from me it won’t have any more attention since it could, and probably is, one of the trolls that had the other topic closed and also came here with his “not his accounts at all” just to discredit other people.
Enjoy your numerous accounts and if you feel like it, please show us your nice and yellow Bananas created by AI
In a way, I feel the same. I have other things I’ve designed that I don’t post because they don’t go with my other designs. I was tempted to make another account, but I’m not going to risk being banned over it. More than one extra account seems like a bit much, though.
Lol. Like this is said as a point of authority, but what a massive red flag.
It’s kind of like saying. Now I’m married, and I loveeeeeeeee fooling around, but let me tell you about why I’m actually a good husband.
Hmm, I wonder if our buddy that creates student level recreations of his AI generated imagery has a license for Fusion
That’s some student level deflection though. The sins of others don’t absolve you of your own.
Anyway. What does this post really do? Like someone hiding in the shadows going no, we’re not all bad. But if you weren’t, you’d lay yourself bare instead of hiding behind an anonymous account and pleas without substance. The argument given as a whole seems to miss the mark of what’s even being discussed, which just further deteriorates the value of it. It comes across more as someone trying to plea not to judge them for committing sins, rather than merely being misunderstood.
You want any credit, show us the real you. Otherwise,
I’m not sure how much more I can shrug unless I get AI involved myself.
I think there’s reasons one might want separate accounts, but I think the platform as a whole looks on such a thing with huge suspicion. It’s the scammers/spammers. You know how it goes. This is why we can’t have nice things.
Anyway. A use case. One makes family friendly games, housewares, etc. But also wants to make NSFW stuff, but not have it color their regular catalog.
To get personal, because I don’t mind laying it bare. I’ve thought about that because weed is legal where I live, and I have a full line of 420 accessories I developed (And use to sell to the local shops). I’ve wanted to release them online before, but it just doesn’t mix with my regular stuff. I have a few items in there already which I’m ehhhh about having on there.
that’s cool, you can create a collection, it will still mingle in the overall page, but i think that’s fine personally
you need to use a proper grinder
Post them you coward So what if they don’t mesh with your other designs. You are not locked in the niche you put yourself it
That red flag is made out of red flags!
Try yoga
Oh, ok.
I’m glad someone else is mentioning this, it’s so annoying to find a good keychain or charm as a gift and just have it flooded with low effort random AI garbage
Nah, I don’t think that a case for the power supply I stole from my first printer would do too well I do know of a person who does the multi-account thing though, but I can’t find any of their accounts as I forgot the names I think one of them was cookie cutters, and the other was other stuff.
We’re takingly largely about people that misrepresent their work for illicit gains. It’s not just AI generated content, it’s the low quality flooding of this kind of work and the use of AI to mislead the fact that it is just low effort and low quality junk.
So, the question is, are you fine with that? Do you think it’s okay for people to bulk upload low effort work in an effort to try and game points out of the system for their own gain? Where it’s obvious the goal isn’t to enrich the community, but merely to profit off of it.
Are you saying it should be fine to completely misrepresent the work by showing cover images that don’t actually reflect the model being offered up to print?
Are you saying that we should lay out the red carpet for mushy AI generated models that are lacking the detail and clarity shown in the AI generated cover images?
It’s like a class reunion today. Welcoming back old personalities with a new face.
I love this. If reports gave you points, I would be rich.
