There are various P2S air diffusers in MakerWorld, e.g., Auxiliary Diffuser, which claims to improve air flow to reduce warping. It would seem to me that the engineers at Bambu took things like that in the design decisions, so I’m wondering if these mods are really worth it improvements
I had PLA warping at the right side of my P2S, until I printed and installed the diffuser. Since then, I have not had any issues with warping. They work for me!
Thank you. That makes me feel better about that particular mod. Anyone have experience with the “P2S vent grill” or the “Hot Air Deflector?”
I also have a riser on top of my p2s, that has sliding grill vents on the front and back, for a total of 4 vents that I can open and close. I chose a taller riser, to eliminate the problem of the PTFE tube rubbing on the underside of the top glass. I printed in PETG for “futureproofing” in case I ever wanted to print with higher temp materials.
at some point i want some printer maker to give a statement on why they include aux fans, what they actually do that cannot be done some other way, and if they are worth the trouble they cause
That was the one modification I made for my P2S, installed, and never looked back. (Well, I did print 3 of them. The gray and black I’ve never used, just the red one.)
Anyway, It does direct the cooling air more directly across the item being printed. So I unscientifically think it helps. I can say it doesn’t hurt anything.
Well, not the only one. When I started using TPU I used the external spool holder, but switched to a bridge type spool holder which I really like. (
P2S / X2D TPU Holder V2 – Reinforced Screw Version (Sorry, don’t know how to capture a link to it in Bambu Studio Online Models) I gave it a place to set on the top of my printer (unloaded) when not in use. (99% of the time.)
