All I want is to buy a part from you Bambu

One of my many A1’s has a faulty tool head. Ive been emailing back and forth to Bambu about getting a replacement. Not under warranty, I will pay for it.
The problem started with either a faulty filament sensor or toolhead circuit board. I tried to fix it, i.e. re-seating cables ets but fear I have made things 10 times worse. I dont have time to diagnose and follow wiki’s. I just want to replace the whole tool head. Why is that so difficult bambu?
Im not asking for anything free, I will pay!
Just when I think things are sorted and you say you will replace it after I pay the invoice that you will send me.
I received no invoice. I chased this and got a reply saying that i need such and such part. No i dont need that part! Have you not been reading my emails?

To put it simply, please please please Bambu send me an invoice for a new toolhead for a V.2 A1 and I will pay you money and then you can send me a new tool head.

I spend hundreds of pounds with you weekly, Over £3000 in the last week, please look after your customers.

I am a loyal and supportive customer, but all these delays are costing me money for no logical reason.

The snapmaker U1 is looking very appealing right now.

Also, MicroCenter carries BBL parts. I was able to grab a replacement for the part in my AMS where the individual filaments are guided to the common filament path out the back. Don’t remember what it was called. But they had a few in stock…

They dont stock the part I need. Id have to buy all the parts the toolhead consists of and build it myself. No time for that and with my track record id end up screwing that up! I just ordered another A1. Ill just use the broken A1 for parts. Just seems crazy that you cant buy a complete toolhead.

I’m confused, you said in your original post you want the whole toolhead…

An assembled toolhead then brings " i dont need all of it " from my own experience i found it to be quite a simple task to change the heating element and two fans and nozzle replacement , (wiki) it just looks daunting

I dont understand whats confusing?

I wanted to buy the fully built toolhead so that I dont have to build one from parts. Mainly as I dont have time to do a 20 min job that ends up taking 3 hours, for me anyway, also risking not putting it together as nicely as the people at Bambu have done.
I dont mind getting my hands dirty and pulling things apart but would rather avoid it if I can.
This whole thing started when the hotend couldnt detect when filament was in it. I pulled it apart and with my limited knowledge diagnosed that it was a Filament extruder sensor. So being impatient as I am I thought A1 mini uses the same toolhead! So removed the toolhead from the A1 and A1 mini from the x-Axis assembly (DONT EVER DO THIS) and swapped them. I found they are not compatable! I also found that there are two versions of the A1, a V1 and a V2. X-axis is slightly different on both variants.
Also what I didnt know is that by removing the toolhead from the x-axis assembly rail you release a million and one tiny tiny ball bearings. Try putting them back!! I managed to on the A1 mini but not the A1, so I am in the process of ordering a new X-axis assembly from Bambu. Not available in their store. Some kind of special order. Also a filament sensor. This time im going to read the Wiki. Ive learnt a few things in this process which is good. One of those things is to replace all my A1’s with H2S’s over time.

It is a bit oddly request, imagine bambu had to keep stocks of all subsystems people wanted to replace instead, like “I want the bottom of the printer, but without the rubber feets because I have those”.

Considering how much is an A1 and your special request, isn’t already cheaper to get a new one? (how much you valuate those 3 hrs?)

3 hours of my time is priceless. Especially doing somthing i dont enjoy or am no good at.
Not really an odd request at all. Why do they sell the x-axis assembly for an A1 mini and not an A1? There are all kinds of inconsistencies.
If you enjoy spending 3 hours of your time working onna £250 machine, fair play. But thats time badly spent in my eyes.

The part you describe is not possible.
If you would receive a complete toolhead you would again need to take it apart to mount it. Since otherwise you cannot reach all the mounting points.

Vice versa for taking it off the machine. If you look at the Wiki regarding this you see that basically you need to strip almost all components off the toolhead before you can unmount the base.

This is what was confusing.

I linked the part you said you wanted to replace. What you now describe is more than just the “toolhead”. You also keep contridicting yourself.

People are just trying to help you… I hope you get what you need!

I think you underestimate what it takes to replace the entire toolhead. It doesn’t just unclip and clip on. You have to tear down large amounts and put it back together.

If you let dollars decide your life, and your time is so valuable, you only have two choices, hire it out or buy a new one. Send me a pm if you’re hiring.

I’m sure the idea of selling the the whole integrated toolhead in one package has been floated. But the VC firms backing up Bambu Labs would never have any of that. They can make at least twice as much money selling everything separately. On the current trajectory, by 2030, we’ll be buying the individual metal lamination layers for the motors in our electronics when we need to replace them, while it’s still legal to open up our own electronics.
