My models were removed from the Exclusive Model Program, and I lost all the exclusive points I had earned.
From what I can tell, I apparently violated the guidelines — I didn’t include my print profiles… Honestly, I wasn’t aware that this was a requirement. When I redeemed both regular and exclusive points for a €40 Gift Card some time ago, there were no issues with the exclusive program status of my models — I was able to exchange all points without any restrictions.
Last week, I tried to redeem points for another €40 Gift Card, and suddenly all my models that were previously part of the Exclusive Program were removed from it. On top of that, my account now shows negative exclusive points for the ones I had already redeemed, and the models are locked from being marked as exclusive again.
These are original 3D models I created and uploaded to MakerWorld. Many users found them useful — lots of likes and downloads. Isn’t that what really matters?
All the points I earned while my models were part of the Exclusive Model Program have been taken away.
The exclusive points were NOT “converted” back into regular points at the appropriate rate — they were simply taken away entirely.
That’s hardly encouraging for creators who want to share their projects and ideas on MakerWorld…
What surprises me most is that models were able to join the Exclusive Program without having the creator’s print profiles attached. If that’s a requirement, then why isn’t the enrollment into the program blocked until a personal print profile is added?
Yes, not good. They did something similar with my models, but not permanent like in your case. They used to offer an automatic 3d generated image of the print profile, but then the requeriment changed to: post a real photo of the print profile. So one day they took down to “draft” all my models without that photo.
It is strange that they let stuff that could be catch before doing, or before they change the rules. I know reading the agreements blablahblah, but …seriously?
Makerworld has been very generous without any effort with my models so on the other side is hard to criticize, hope you find a solution contacting support or appealing.
You’re probably right – but there’s always a chance of missing some detail when reading through any set of rules. I overlooked the information about the print profile…
I think something like the print profile could be automatically checked at the stage of uploading a model to the Exclusive program. This unpleasant situation with the gift card exchange didn’t really have to happen. The question is: why wasn’t there any issue before – only after the second exchange did the system suddenly detect an error?
If the exclusive points weren’t supposed to apply – fine, that’s my fault – but why was the entire amount taken away? Why wasn’t it simply converted into regular points instead?
I only collect points from sharing my own models – I don’t accumulate them in any other way.
In fact, I couldn’t even find any information on where to appeal or how to contact technical support…

Now I see it wasn’t really worth it…
In this situation, I’ll restore those models on Printables so they can be shared with a wider group of “dancing with 3D printers”…
I figured out the way to go is to build up points for 40 years and get the 2-pack of filament so you can balance out the shipping. Just 37 more years I can get the galaxy black PLA I have my eye on
then just import from printables to makerworld is not that I want to design to get points, but I enjoy getting filament to do more experiments. I prefer makerworld before thingiverse/printables/others because the creative process of test prints becomes free
you realize when someone uploads print profile for your model he will get points not you? In few examples they donated points back to you, but few people simply get points for your work…If you really want the points create profiles .
The model designer does retain any model points that third-party profiles help drive.
If a third-party profile drives 50 downloads, the model designer earns the points for those 50 downloads, just not the points for the unassigned profile (in your examplej.
I prefer to provide a model and profile as I always guarantee my own model prints.
What happens if there are no creator profiles, and a user clicks on somebody’s profile and then clicks the green button to select ‘Open in Bambu Studio’?
