All of my custom presets have disappeared (Studio and Orca)

Ak ok, i dont have much to back up yet but i suspect i will. Thanks for the advice

None of my user profiles for printers and materials are saved :((( I now save each print as a separate project and for the next task I open the previous project and change only the details in it using the printer, material, print settings from the old project

Iā€™m in the exact same situation. None of my user configs show up in bambu studio or orca but do show up the the respective configuration folders. Has anyone had any reliable way to get them to stick?

I am having the exact same issue also. I have imported someone elses configs. When I restart bambu studio, the presets disappear.

My presets have disappeared a time or two, both in Studio and Orca-slicer, usually after an update.

Logging out, restarting the program, and logging in again has always brought them back out of the cloud.

Anyone heard of an update on this issue?

I am having this problem as well. I make a Custom Profile and then when trying to use it again = gone.

Same thing in Orca Slicer.

Windows 10, most recent releases of Bambu Studio and Orca.

this is insane. as a new user trying to get filament profiles from the community for the first time, i dont even know whats broken

I save a new user preset from the community project, an see it show up, but only in that project. if i open a new project, my filament presets are gone. i dont know if im encountering this bug, or if its just user errorā€¦ Why do people love this slicer so much?

You are much better off calibrating your filaments yourself. Using community filament profiles doesnā€™t guarantee the best results on your particular printer. It isnā€™t a one size fits all thing.

For Bambu Studio on a Mac, what are possible places other than ~/Library/Application Support/BambuStudio where lost settings might have been saved? Iā€™ve disabled sync, quit Bambu Studio, restored that folder from a backup made before the loss occurred, but the lost settings havenā€™t returned.

Edited:

I found the files in an older backup. For anyone else who might have this sort of trouble, the place to look on a Mac is in ~/Library/Application Support/BambuStudio/User. I found the files from the backup in 3 folders in a numbered folder in that ā€œUserā€ folder. Presumably the numbered folder is related to my unique Bambu Lab login.

hi there,

i got a simular issue - i try to set new printer into bambustudio (Qidi Xmax3), wifi connection with klipper is fine - but all settingsdisappearing once i restart bambustudio.

it seems like to me, hat my Bambustio dont save the new printer + filament setting.

anyone got the same issue?

cheers,

I have the same setup. I do not have any problems with presets. I donā€™t use custom presets on the X1C but i do on the Qidi. Both slicers work great for me. Bambu-studio and OrcaSlicer!

Only suggestion is maybe do a reset. :man_shrugging:

Maybe someone else has some other pointers to fix your problem.

I would expect Studio or Orca to remember the new printer, but filament and process settings are unique to each printer. User Presets created for a Bambu printer will not appear if you have the Qidi selected.

This is true, verified with the slicers

yes that rigt - my issue is: i create new printer - modify the filament settings - save as (example) ā€œPETG Xā€.

PETG X shows in drop down menu - everything is fine.

after i restard studio - this setting disappearā€¦ :man_shrugging:

I now think you found a genuine bug that should be submitted on Github.

I added an Ender 3 and a Qidi X-Smart 3 printer to Studio and modified filament and process settings for each. The Creality user presets were saved and available on restart. The Qidi user presets disappeared.

I did find the .json files for the Qidi user presets in the configuration folders but they were not available in the drop-downs and I did not manage to import them.
