AMS 2 Pro and multicolor question

so i am looking at a 6 color print and between my AMS 2 and the outer spool holder that gives me 5 colors. i was curious how others handled prints like this, if there was a way to break down by layers and see if by layer 37 i am done with this color, or something?

additionally am i able to mid-print swap colors out in the AMS 2 Pro mid print once i finish with a color?

you cannot swap ams colors, honestly your best bet is to get another ams system.

is there any way to view colors by layer then? optimistically if two of the colors aren’t used at the same time should theoretically be able to swap them out manually since they aren’t in the ams, right?

Go to Preview, in the Slicing Result window, choose Color Scheme: Filament

Drag the vertical slider on the right (or use the ↓ and ↑ keys) to see a particular layer.

The stack-of-layers icon under the vertical slider is a toggle to show only the selected layer.

If the ghosted image (shell) of the model is confusing, it can be turned off in Preferences→ 3DSettings→ Always show shells in preview.

perfect, that helped solve the issue. there are only a couple of layers that dictate a shade of grey needing to change to match another and that solves the issue. now to print a dry box of sorts for my external spool holder as i don’t trust my room’s humidity for 13 hrs

just do what @Ikraus said
