I just tried to dry a roll of pink Bambu Matte PLA this morning using the PLA drying setting and the AMS wouldn’t let me.
The AMS also has two rolls of PETG installed.
You can see that the AMS refused to start the drying cycle, requesting that the PLA (that I was trying to dry) needed to be removed first - even though I selected the PLA drying cycle.
I’m on the latest AMS firmware as of this post. Sounds like a bug to me.
It’s because your spool of PLA is still connected to the inlet port. Remove it completely and try again.

@simtom Thanks for your reply. Is that only a restriction/requirement for PLA? I am currently drying two rolls of PETG in the AMS, with them both still connected to the inlet port.
For now it’s a requirement yes. Bambu Lab has mentioned they’re continuing to test various configurations but the main reason for this limit is because there’s a high risk of the filament becoming too soft and getting stuck in the inlet motor.

@simtom Thanks - that makes sense now.
