Ok, I know this has been discussed but I didn’t see anything about it before placing my P1S Pro Combo purchase.
How friggin annoying is it that I have to use the printers control panel to start and stop drying???
Like, it’s already fully networked and reports its drying status and environmental data to Handy and Studio, so… Let me start and stop it remotely lol
Everytime I remember, “hey, I should check the humidity of the AMS” and then realize it’s a little higher than I’d like, I then have to get up and go to my printer to hit dry.
And considering my ADHD brain just says “do it later”, I never do it
I love the other functionality and build of the AMS 2, but this is such a basic piece of functionality to have missed.
Agreed, I have my gear setup on a smart plug and I can turn that off instead. The AMS does not resume drying after a power cycle.
This does nothing for allowing me to start the drying but at the same time, if I am staring a drying cycle I am inserting/removing spools anyway and securing the filement so starting from the printer is less of an issue IMO.
I would like a stop function in Bambu Studio, as I sometimes Do a quick 30/60min heat cycle to push out any extra humidity gained from a lid open.
It’s such a bad design. Clicking through on the control panel is terrible. Drying should be able to be started in the app. I’m wishing I had waited and got the Sunlu AMS dryer that can dry with filament loaded.
Bambu needs to make some updates ASAP to enable drying while printing, drying with filament loaded, and start and monitor from the app.
It can’t even monitor humidity and start drying over a specified threshold - it truly feels like they didn’t do much market research on drying before they built this.
Also, from my experience it won’t let you print if you have it actively drying. Sunlu did release an add on that is supposed to let you dry and print at one time but like PrinterMcgee said, it softens the filament and I’d be worried about somehow damaging the AMS.
I bought 2 AMS Pro 2’s for my A1. I connected them up and everything seemed to work, filament feeding and detecting. I tried the dyer on AMS A everything worked fine, stoped it then tried AMS B then it gave me an error.
Error- AMS B The Heater 2 is disconnected, which may be due to poor connector contact. Looked at all connections, they look good. Looked at Wiki support. Didn’t see much on this.

I checked all of the connections, they are secure and nothing is unplugged. Could the board or heater be bad from the factory? Is there anything to look for?
