AMS 2 Pro filament retracting too much?

Hi there,

I’m having this weird issue with my Ams 2 pro particularly after drying filament.

When loading filament (typically happens on a new, full spool) into slots 2 or 3 (the middle 2 slots), the filament does the typical load and unload motion. Normally, one would expect the filament to unload to a point where it cuts off. However, in my case, the filament retracts all the way until it pops out of the inlet hole. It is very annoying.

I’ve tried replacing the tubes and also cleaning the feeder hub (including reinserting the magnets) but this didn’t solve the issue. Curiously, it does not happen when the ams unit has cooled down so I’m wondering if it’s related.

Anyone had this issue too? Thank you.

I’m having the same issue with Slot 2. Newer spool and maybe a little warm from drying.

I am having this problem now, I have had this AMS 2 PRO for less than a month, using a new roll of Bambu filament slot 2 Keeps spitting out the filament, Did anyone find a solution?

Mine was the same situation, I took some canned air and blew out / cooled off the feeder and it worked after that. I doubt this is the way it’s supposed to work though. I wonder if this could be covered under warranty. Do you still have this problem?

I’ve just run into this issue as well.

New AMS2 Pro purchased during the anniversary sale. Used it to dry 4 brand new rolls of BL ASA overnight last night. Did not insert the filaments into the feeders, so that I could dry with rotation for 12 hours.

Managed to print new filament swatches with all four filaments, including text printed in different colors.

It at one point “unloaded” the Gray that was loaded into slot 2, and now the AMS doesn’t read it as inserted. If I pull the filament out, and re-insert, it does the normal process, and then doesn’t recognize that anything is inserted.

Temperature inside the AMS2 Pro is currently 44C, with 7% humidity.

I’ve continued with more prints, and have now had Slot 2 automagically “unload” itself, mid print (during a filament change) multiple more times. So far, ONLY slot 2 has done this, and it has happened with multiple different filaments.

I’ve got video now of trying to “load” a new filament between prints, and it goes through the motions, and then unloads so far that the filament completely exits the inlet.

Very odd.
