AMS 2 Pro or 2 AMS HT?

With the coupon, a single AMS 2 Pro is the same price as 2 HTs. I have a AMS original and will be adding to it instead of replacing but im not sure i need 8 filament swapping. What do you think? A couple HTs and a hub so i can dry 1 or 2 spools while still using the AMS 1? Or is the AMS 2 better?

I dont currently print with engineering filaments but i may if i had reliable drying. I know the HT can get hotter.

Is there any reason to get a AMS 2 instead of 2 HT aside from having 2 more slots?

I have an AMS 2 and 2 HTs and I like it. I did it for space savings, but it is nice to have separate units for drying whenever I want, without having to wait for the print to finish, OR having to wait for the temps to fall back down to the printable range (got an error once about printing when the drying was done, but the temps were still around 50C).

But honestly, if I had the space for it I might prefer two AMS 2’s. I’m a little uncertain because I do like to use the HT’s for TPU printing and drying too, so a second AMS 2 wouldn’t be as useful there.

I have two Pro’s and it never fails that I need a roll that’s in the one that’s drying. I’m going to get an HT to use primarily for drying to keep my two Pro’s always available.

I think as long as you don’t need the two extra slots then I’d go for the HT’s. Something only you can decide…

Do you only use Bambu filaments? I’ve seen some posts saying the Pro and HT will only dry Bambu filaments.

They dry everything that fits into the slots.

Are the HTs just as fast as the Pro when loading and unloading filament? Are they quieter or louder than the Pro?

Noise-wise… there’s not much in it as far as the filament drive, both are fast and similarly noisy. I do think the dryer is louder on the HTs, but not by a lot. Its just noticeably a little higher.

Can you dry desiccant beads in the AMS Pro and HT? Does that work pretty well?
