So it has been 3-4 days since I received my p2s combo and on the third day I received a message which said ams slot 1 is heating abnormally and the drying process may experience thermal runaway. Now, the thing is I don’t have an ams drying cable (yet) but it thinks that it is capable of doing so. Not only that, but the terrifying part is that the printer thinks that the ams 2 pro is 70-80 degrees celsius and when I put my hand in there it just feels like usual around 30 degrees like room temperature. To add up, when sometimes it activates the drying function automatically (even though in the ams is room temperature) and when I try to stop it, it automatically turns it back on again. Can anyone help? I’m really confused, I already contacted
bambu support but has anyone experienced this?
Sorry this doesn’t answer your question, but instead of following the instructions on the screen I’d unplug the AMS and entirely stop using it and contact support for further advice. I do not believe simply unplugging the power supply is enough to disable the heating function.
I had exactly the same issue with one of my ams (high temp readings and other errormessages in terms of ams sensors)
Opened a ticket, sent logs, fotos etc… could have saved my time because this was for nothing and took more days than my solution without Support.
Finally as already mentioned here i unplugged the ams, restartet the printer and reconnected the affected ams with a different 6pin cable.
Since then I had no issues anymore. So i suspect nervous sensors and a faulty cable.

I may have found the culprit
I was basically just testing around and I saw that the AMS wouldn’t allow me to dry which is the correct thing.
So basically, my printer power cable route used to be printer to this yellow cable then to a adapter then to a power extension thing then finally the wall plug. I removed the yellow wire today and so far it’s going really well since when I checked the drying feature, it limits itself and says that it has insufficient power which is correct since I don’t have the cable.
Not sure if this is the fix though
It’s back again. My printer reads 60-80 degrees celsius for the ams 2 pro when it isn’t even hot when i put my hand on the ams 2 pro. Just now, I tried drying on the ams 2 pro (this is without the drying cable) and the ams was a bit warm, and i tried stopping it. There was no issues, I tried turning on and off to see, and when I saw the ams 2 pro temperature, it started spiking up to 70 degrees celsius and when I tried to put my hand on the ams, it still is like room temperature. I’m starting to think that this is a hardware issue and not a firmware issue. Any thoughts guys?
It keeps on messing with me, one moment it’s 36 degrees and now its 75 degrees.
Hi KLD, i know this post is old now however, I have a brand new AMS 2 pro that is doing exactly what yours was, regarding the false high temp readings. Did you get a fix? I currently awaiting a reply on a ticket.
