Pretty much ever since I started using my X1 Carbon, I get the message saying that the AMS assist motor is overloaded…
Spools turn freely, no printing issues, so not sure if this is a real problem or a false sensor trip?
Even if it’s a false positive, I want it fixed so that I know if/when there is a real issue.

I use to get this message when using cardboard spools when they were 1/2 used and also when trying electrical tape. I gave up and used reuseable spools and no more problems.
I am getting this error too. Every layer or two it throws it when retracting. But the roll turns freely by hand. If I just dismiss the error without touching anything and “Resume”, it works fine. It did not do this before I updated the firmware. It makes printing with AMS nearly impossible.

I had a similar problem and error message when the spool with cardboard spool adapter ring in the AMC rested against the cover, this can also lead to the problem described in this video https://youtu.be/QduUSPwnAZo?t=108
