My second A1 after the first was defective. While not the major problem the one and only time my first printer attempted the automatic filament changed it failed spectacularly with a clogged head and other problems. I observed the process to see the error(s).
New A1 and it again failed the switch. At least this time it “only” gave an error saying “Unknown problem” and “clear filament.” It had done some sort of purge and cut just before the error and just as it [seemed] to detect the runout. Was able to clear by disconnecting the tube AT THE AMS, pressing the release and pulling out. Then pressed, “continue” on the screen and the machine immediately fed from the identical type roll enabled for the automatic change.
Is this a problematic feature? Am I doing something wrong? Firmware updated. Is this perhaps a QC problem of the sort that found more than a dozen loose assembly screws throughout my new printer?
