AMS Compatibility

Hello, I intend to buy an AMS and I saw that some filaments are not compatible. Does PLA LW work with an AMS. When a filament is not compatible how to print with it. Sorry for these questions but I do not know this product at all. Best Regards.

Yes PLA LW (light weight?) will be fine in the AMS. What doesn’t work is very soft filaments like TPU 95A HF as well as very abrasive filaments like PA6-CF.

In the case where you have a filament that will not work in the AMS you can use the external spool path to feed the printer.

On the 12th, Bambu Lab will launch a TPU that is compatible with the AMS.

If it’s not easy to get behind your printer and you want to print a non-compatible filament after you get the AMS you can make a nifty side spool holder and splitter. This is the one I use but there are a lot of other options:
