New to Bambu Lab X-1 Carbon printer, not new to 3D printing. My AMS does not recognize the Bambu Lab matte filament when I place the reels in the AMS and load the filament? I used up some Overture brand, and it printed fine but, of course did not recognize it either. Didn’t expect it to. Aren’t there some RFID tags or something in the Bambu reels? Thanks for your help.
Yes, BL filaments entail RFID tags.
I never noticed any issue on the spool side.
Did you try other AMS slots? If you have other BL filaments, you can assess if the issue is the spool or the AMS. And if the latter, which slots are faulty?
Is it a refill or a complete spool?
Try this. ^^^ There are three inner dividers in the AMS. The two outside dividers contain the RFID readers. So, slots 1 & 2 share a reader and slots 3 & 4 share a reader. The BL spools and/or refills have an RFID tag on both sides. You might swap the spool with the adjoining slot in case one of the tags are faulty. If it works after that, I’d mark the spool somehow, so the good tag is always facing a reader.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I did move the offending reel to a different
slot and asked the AMS to load it and “low and behold!” it recognized the reel. I a
appreciate the help.
