I’m tired of facing pull back filament fails/errors on my AMS.
Every single multicoloured model I try to print, I always face filament errors. Every morning I wake up only to see that the AMS failed to pull back the filament and make the changeover. The problem is that I just hit “retry” and it regularly pulls it back. So that means that AMS sensor is very delicate to force resistance and that makes it totally unreliable for long time prints.
Have you behind the MAS filament buffer again a PTFE coupling verbau as it was enclosed with the AMS? Ganau at this point I also always had problems and have simply put a continuous PFTE hose from the buffer to the Druckkopft and now no more problems.

I have the same problem but even when I try to retract, the AMS fails and the filament got jammed in the AMS. Doesn’t matter what brand or type, when I print bigger models for a longer time, it jams. That thing is so unreliable, I would like to return that device. It#s brandnew (received it 4 days ago) but it never really worked! I’m very disappointed. The printer itself is great, but the AMS really spoils it for me! Can’t recommend the X1C Combo! I opened a support ticket. Let’s see if they react!
Many of us (including myself) have seen major improvements in the AMS retraction reliability by adding this button w/PTFE tubing on top of the existing feeder buttons AMS Feeder Buttons w/PTFE tubing
How did it end? Was the support able to help you? Was your issue resolved?
I have the same issue, I opened the support ticket as well, but it takes days for them to reply, and they didn’t help yet.
Unfortunately I can’t us the AMS properly. It fails to often and is unreliable. Ich mainly use an extra spool and leave the AMS beside… Sad but true! Support was not helpful at all!
That’s pretty sad the support was not helpful… It is clearly the printer defect. What did he say? Like “yeah it is not working, it is your problem now”? It is a brand new device… Don’t they provide any guarantees?
Yeah, it took forever until they responded with “check if the PTE tubes are correct”. I gave up on that. I don’t use the AMS. The printer is great, but the AMS just causes problems over problems, here. I tried to return it and get a replacement, but the support is not reacting at all to my requests.
No, not that bad indeed! I placed the AMS differently, I printed a small piece for the printhead, so that the filament doesn’t have to bend so much and it got better. I believe there was a firmware patch that helped as well.
So, everything is fine, now!
