I am new to 3d printing and for some reason my ams lite stopped feeding on port 2. The gear is moving but the filament is not getting pulled through. It also looks like the filament is being shredded as it is being pushed through the gear. Any help is appreciated as I have no clue what to do.
I do not have an A1 but when this happens on my X1, I need to cut off the shredded filament. Around 20cm. And, when I am particularly unluky, clean out the extruder wheels.
Are you certain the spool is freely rolling, turning? Usually something like a tangle or in the AMS (mine) a filament holder has caught inside the spool while it spins stopping it. Usually an error is thrown though.
Here are some pictures. I am using Bambu filament. I know that the spool can spin and the gear is covered in filament chunks. I tried the exact same filament on port 3 of my ams lite and it worked just fine.
If it’s feeding properly (spool moving) there has to be resistance causing the gear to slip when pulling, thus you see bits. First I’d try a different spool. If it continues then I’d clean the feeder.
