AMS HT: Feature Request - Control via Bambu Handy

I just got mine a few days ago and very quickly noticed the restrictions or limited features/use case.

Whilst the AMS HT can not be used whilst printing, it also can not be controlled from the Bambu Handy App. I would like to see more control options over the AMS HT and AMS2 Pro from the app.

Possible scenarios: User is away from the printers. Receives notification a print job is complete. User wishes to dry filament (PETG-HF or other) currently in the device, but is not able to remotely.

Please allow more control remotly. Start/Stop dry funnctions with/without rotate via App.

Yeah it should definitely be supported in Handy and Studio. I’m fairly confident they’ll implement that. Some other improvements I’d like to see:

  1. Currently if I start a print while drying, the drying is interrupted. That’s great BUT it doesn’t resume drying after the print finishes. It obviously should, no questions asked! The current situation where I can’t even restart it from the app or slicer obviously makes this worse.

  2. My Sunlu S4 can monitor humidity forever after finishing a drying program and automagically start a short maintenance drying cycle if it gets over a threshold. This is a great feature and I wish AMS2/AMS HT could support this too.

  3. The printer already knows whether the spools are loaded into the feeder or not, so the check box for rotating spools is redundant. It could be replaced with just an info reminder.

  4. If I have spools in the AMS unloaded for allowing rotation, I’d still like the “Re-read” button to work. This is less important but I see no technical reason it wouldn’t work. After they implement drying control in Handy/Studio this will allow me to make sure I don’t accidentally start drying PLA at 85°C or something stupid like that (believe me I will, just a matter of time).

I agree, also when is a date when it will work with A1 series?

Yeah good suggestions.

I also have the Sunlu S4 and do love the functionality of it keeping the humidity levels below a set threshold.

Yes! We need remote control for the ams ht heater function!!!

Agreed - Being able to start a drying cycle remotely would be handy, mostlyu if for example I forget to start it and leave for the day etc.

I did in another thread also, but +1 for sure for this!

I can’t believe this feature doesn’t exist in Bambu Studio or Bambu Handy! Such a disappointment for an expensive AMS-HT.

Crazy this still isn’t added.

Yeah I don’t understand why I cannot do this. Today the screen on my 2 week old H2D died, support chat opened a ticket, no idea how long that will take to get resolved. But now I have zero way to use the heater on my AMS2 Pro or AMS HT. Crazy!

+1 from me. This would be very handy.

With the latest Bambu Studio update, remote control for the filament dryer in the AMS HT and AMS 2 Pro has been announced. It looks like it requires a firmware update for the H2D, so it probably isn’t available for other printers. At least on my P1S, it’s not working
