HI, Bambu Lab AMS HT ,when you already have an AMS(on my P1S) , could it function as a fifth filament slot ? So I can print 5 colors simultaneously with automatic feeding ?
Yes, you also need a filament hub
So you can’t use it as an external and expect the AMS function to work?
I haven’t bought it yet, but based on its name, it’s not an automatic filament feeder?
And none of you even look at the sales page once, I suppose? Or what do you think the brushless servo feeding motor is in there for?
You don’t necessarily need the hub, the buffer will do, but then you need a splitter in front of it.
Ever thought of chilling out,. that was an angry response. The product page is not every informative , unless you are using an H2D
The product page is informative enough, what should that have to do with whether you use an H2D?
And if my answer was “angry”, then good luck in your future life
The big clue is in its name, the A in AMS… Automatic Material System - High Temp.
The answer is yes it will add more capacity to your multi material prints. You can buy the hub, or a cheaper way to do it is with the 4 to 1 PTFE AMS Lite adapter and integrate it into the buffer, or just make a fully printable one.
In my experience, as long as the material is the same, say PLA, you can use filament colors scattered among different flavor AMS’s.
I have only ever got rejected is when I forget a certain color is a different material. PLA COLOR + PETG COLOR won’t fly.
I am sympathetic to the comment about:
The product page is not every informative , unless you are using an H2D
Over the course of the last 2 - 3 months they have made functional changes to both the hardware via firmware, and software via software updates.
I do a Wiki search on Studio as it relates to AMS and I get tons of H2D hits and very few to no hits for my P1S.
I hope it gets a discount this week
I doubt it. Hard. Really Hard.
Have been told via chat that apart from the current 3 year anniversary sales, no other discounts are coming on printers or AMS. I also asked if I could use my AMS 2 pro discount voucher for the AMS HT and was emphatically told “no”. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem worth the cost to me. And the price of an AMS 2 pro even after the discount voucher is more than the cost of an A1.
