Is there any way to read the humidity numbers from the AMS devices like they used to.
The A - E bar is a bit too dumbed down for me. The sensors didn’t change so they are converting the number to a letter value. Along the lines of if RH% >0 and ≤ 15% = A. From there up through if ≥ 80% then water is standing in the bottom of the AMS
I am no web page architect for sure but I do know enough to know you could have the letter scale for those who want to just be told when to dry filament AND have the actual value in a separate field.
I can read mine using Home Assistant. I don’t have the full list of values but on the AMS 31% equates to a C, and on the AMS2 Pro mine still shows as a %age, but the 21% shown is indicating A on Home Assistant. I hope this helps.
I hooked up some Adafruit microcontrollers to my AMS units a while back to measure the %RH to validate whether the AMS numbers were accurate . Some of the round or circular hygrometers I see in pictures on occasion are junk so wanted to see what the AMS showed.
So, in that regard, I can check just by reconnecting my sensors.
It’s really always better to have a number than a dumbed down scale.
Just to use C as an example.
When you have a sensor generating a value, that is not arbitrary. If your sensor reads 20%RH, that’s what you have.
A letter encompasses a range. Don’t focus on if the values here are correct, its an example but C has a minimum value which is say 20%. C also has a maximum value which may be 35%
Anything between 20% - 35%= C.
I want to be able to use my discretion as to when to yank a spool out of an AMS to dry it. If I have a number, I can use my judgement to say I do not need to dry it because it is 21% so just bumped up above B. But with a letter, everything in C=OKAY
