AMS issue with HUB

Wondering if someone had the issue before i go buying any parts. I think its the motor but it could be the hub too.

So the filaments feeder works fine, but when it stops the 4 to 1 hub. Now i opened up the hub and was able to pass filament through all the holes. checked the teeth on the gear, the motors gear spins.
But
When i manual turn the gear on the motor backwards its easy to turn but when i turn it in the opposite direction i can feel its tougher to turn.

Has the motor packed up?

You might want to check each PTFE tube going into each infeed port on the buffer to make sure it is locked in. You can feel it lock when you push the tubing into the coupler.
Same with the outfeed to the toolhead.

I had the outfeed tubing come loose on my original buffer and it was hard to figure out because it would feed but not make it to the filament sensor in the toolhead. That would trigger a fault and the AMS would then rewind it. I just happened to see the filament feeding, but outside the tubing. Reconnected tubing to coupler and problem solved. In that respect, same thing could happen with buffer except 5 total tube to coupler connections to be bad.

If you have the translucent PTFE, choose a dark colored filament and load the filament. You should be able to follow the dark filament and determine where the problem is. The AMS pushes it to the toolhead, then the extruder pulls/pushes to the nozzle.

I have also had to replace a single AMS Feeder Unit. It was making a horrendous grinding and just generally bad noise.
