AMS Lite A1 Slot 4 Keeps Failing

Hello, good day. A few weeks ago, I acquired a Bambu Lab A1 with the AMS Lite. Initially, I had no problems and made a few prints, including multicolor ones, without any issues. However, for the past week or so, it has started to fail. There’s no way to start a print correctly. This only happens if I use slot 4 of the AMS. If I use the other 3 slots, whether together or separately, there’s no problem.

When starting a print, the AMS moves the filament towards the extruder and then immediately back out again, repeatedly, as if the extruder or nozzle is clogged or something. However, this is not the case. If I push the filament manually, it extrudes, and other filaments extrude without any issues. In the printer settings, when extruding manually, sometimes it works without problems, but other times I see the extruder wheel turning, but the AMS does nothing, and the filament doesn’t move at all.

In some prints, everything starts fine, but when it begins printing, it prints air because the AMS is not moving the filament at all, so the printer ends up extruding nothing. I’ve tried with another filament spool (the one I was using until now was official Bambu Lab PLA), and it does exactly the same thing.

At the moment im printing using other slots but i have a print that uses the 4th slot (and i want to be able to use all of them of course) and it just doesnt work.

As you can see in the images and videos, the printer extrudes what it cans, i suppose what it is inside the extrusor or something but then nothing more comes out of it, it keeps printing air and the ams motor doesnt move the filament at all.

You should not be able to push the filament in without pushing the yellow button.
If you have been doing this, you might have stripped the gears.

I have this error message too, and cannot figure it out.

i did it only once in the video, the gear seems okay, the same as the other 3 and it loads and unloads correctly and works “sometimes”

You find a solution to your problem?

Has podido solucionar el problema? Tengo el mismo inconveniente y desarme pero no estoy seguro si lo volvi a armar correctamente

I Am Having A Slot 4 issue where it does not even see the filament

Same problem Here and No solution so far

Slot 4 is giving me problems. It stops loading and then i have to take it out and cut the filament at a 45 degree angle. Then it will load.

I’m in the same situation and no solutión found.

Bump, Any solutions to this?

Did you ever get this figured out? I’m having the same problem

Same, I tried downgrading the firmware but still not working. It will push filament into the tube but then forget that it’s there and when I try to pull it out and push it back in still doesn’t work. I tried editing the filament as it was being pushed in but it still didn’t work. Please help, I’m trying to print family something for Christmas

everyone in the world is having this issue, probably firmware issue, or a bug. But sadly bambu lab team isnt noticing this.

I am having the same issues with skit 4. U have only had my printer for a few months I thought it was a filament issue but it isn’t. I have to keep on manually remove it and then once in awhile it will automatically load for one run then it stops. i submitted a support ticket and hope this gets fixed. I want to be able onuse all 4 slots.

Same issue here - been fine for the last few weeks, and now doesn’t progress the filament when starting a new print. None of the other AMS positions are having issue, and the error doesn’t migrate with the spools when they’re [un]loaded in different positions.

Hitting “Retry” doesn’t make any difference, but pop the PTFE tube off the Filament Hub and then push it back in and then hit “Retry” it works fine until the print ends. It almost as if the post-print retraction, or pre-print feed is fractionally out somehow for AMS postion 4.

I’m having the exact same problem, but with slot 1.

If I push, it extrudes, but as soon as I let go, it gives errors. I can’t use slot 1; it’s impossible.

Have you found a solution?
