AMS Lite Sales?

Does the AMS Lite ever go on sale? I recently bought the A1 Mini when it was on sale to see if I would like 3D Printing. I am hooked, and I am kicking myself for not buying the bundle with the AMS now.

Same here. I bought a1 mini without ams on sale. Now ams is more expensive than my a1 mini. It is not a big deal because i love to paint my 3d prints. However it would be nice to have ams cheaper than 3d printer.

Nope, just the bundle, havn’t seen it since it lanched.

I think it might go on sale during their yearly anniversary sale (May-July or something like that). That’s when I bought my A1 Mini on a massive discount.

It was last on sale during their 2nd Anniversary sale.

It was from June 5th to July 5th.

They had a Black Friday sale last year - they will likely repeat it.

29th November this year I believe. The AMS lite may be in the sale.

Not having one vs having one - it is like night and day.

Does anyone know if you need to get the AMS lite for multicolor printing?
I purchased the standalone A1 mini and have now noticed that the AMS lite is $400 separately. I am wondering if you can still do multicolor printing without the AMS?

You can do multiple colour printing without an AMS/AMS Lite if the colour changes are at layer starts.

This is one of my more popular models.

I create print profiles for these both with the AMS and without.

You will notice the three specific profiles with PAUSE written at the end (look at the bottom of the profile list).

Each of those allows you to easily print the models I provide where the printer will automatically PAUSE at the correct point and then swap the filament on the printer with a different one. This way you are acting as the AMS.

Anything with colour changes in the same layers cannot be printed without the AMS (in any meaningful way).

You couldn’t print this one as the black and white are changed within each layer.

But, you can print this version because the colour change occurs at a layer height.

Not many people provide print profiles like this. You will need to download the profile/models into Bambu Studio and preview the model, then, using the lyer level bar (far right) move up to the point you wish to be able to change a filament, add a PAUSE. Repeat this until you have as many swaps as you require of someone’s model.

If you have the patience, you can swap many times over.

The Rainbow7 PAUSE profile I created lets you swap enough times to end up with a 7 colour-rainbow version of this model.

It’s only $249 here at this link but I would just buy another A1 Mini Combo instead. :grinning:

or

My guess would be Australian dollars, they use the currency type dollar there.

The A1 mini is 329AUD and 579AUD, with the AMS lite separately at 399AUD.

A large cost difference/penalty for not purchasing it at the same time.

Thanks for your help - I have just started 3D printing with the A1 mini currently shipping, originally having the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE that faulted. I will see how I go with the recommendations from MalcTheOracle. But will consider purchasing the AMS in the future
