AMS Lite Top Mount Chance of falling and where to put it

I am thinking about getting the combo for the a1 but do not have any space to put it, will the top mount fail?

I have seen people say “Oh, its so bad, can crack and break the a1” But has anyone encountered this before?

Extra information: I do not have a a1 currently

I am thinking putting it here (on the mini fridge)

It really depends on the material, PETG probably won’t break but I wouldn’t trust one made out of PLA for this but it’ll probably be fine. I looked through the ratings and don’t see anyone who said theirs broke.

Ahh, okay. I might put some petg in my cart when i check out then, along with the screws

Yeah you should probably do that. I don’t think PLA would break but I would make it out of PETG just in case.

And, any brands of filament you reccomend?

I am thinking sunlu, seen good reviews on amazon

I personally try to stick with Bambu because I have 2 AMS units and it gets confusing without the RFID. (The AMS Lite and AMS automatically scan Bambu spools to get the material and color)

I don’t have any brands in specific that I think are superior but I would recommend staying away from really cheap filament and no name brands, they usually turns out to be bad quality and it’s worth the few extra dollars to get quality material. I have like 5kg of Sunlu at the moment and it’s great.

BTW u can get Bambu refills for $15 a spool if you buy 4 at a time, it used to be 13 per spool but they removed that.

Would PLA-CF be stronger or weaker than PETG? I was wondering if it would be better because of the carbon fiber.

It has weaker layer adhesion so it will be more prone to snapping.
