Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with my AMS, and I’ve created a short video to show what’s happening (apologies for my English in the video). Here’s the problem:
When I insert filament into any slot, the AMS doesn’t detect it. Normally, it should pull in the filament after detecting it, but in my case, nothing happens. I’ve tried pushing several centimeters of filament in, but the AMS doesn’t register it or load it.
When I start a print, the AMS still doesn’t detect the filament. However, if I manually push the filament about 20-30 cm forward to reach the first motor, it gets detected and pulled in. This means I have to manually assist both loading and unloading the filament, as the rollers that feed the spool also don’t turn during these processes.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
Opened the AMS and confirmed all cables are correctly connected and undamaged.
This problem only started happening recently, and I’m unsure what else to check. If anyone has advice or troubleshooting steps, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Here a video of my probleme :
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I noticed that when you manually fed it in the second slot the light changed to solid blue meaning the filament detector worked but the first stage motor did not. I don’t believe the light went solid blue on the third slot. This is just speculation but if none of the first stage feeders are pulling in the filament, even if it’s detected, but it will work if you manually feed it to the main motor then there might be a problem with the AMS mainboard. I would definitely open a ticket and go through the support process.
Hello
Indeed it’s possibly the source of the probleme. I already changed the mainboard 3 weeks ago (for and other probleme) and until now it was working well.
I see you have other AMS units. Do you have one you could spare to swap parts out with? If you’ve already swappped the main board and all the first stage feeders are acting similarly there isn’t much left but the power board. If this is a fairly new unit I feel like Bambu might need to replace the whole unit.
Perhaps check to see if the slots wire harness isn’t fully connected to the main board?
Something similar happened to me today in the middle of a print.
I programmed everything to use the support filament on spool 1 and the material on spool 2. In the middle of the print, I don’t know what happened, but it only printed the first layers (approximately 10) and then switched everything to the material on spool 3.
I’ve done everything and it simply doesn’t detect anything on spool 2. The lights work. I even tried only feeding the spool 2 input and removing all the other spools. And it still doesn’t detect anything on spool 2.
I don’t know what it could be, but I’m not going to waste time. I’m going to take it straight to tech support. I bought it less than a week ago, and it’s not possible for this to happen in such a short amount of time.
