Hi everyone! A few months ago I received my P2s (without ams)
I just ordered the buffer and 1 ams HT. I also want a 4-filament AMS, but i don’t know if an AMS or an AMS 2pro. I mostly print with pla and petg. What do you guys recommend me?

I would definitely recommend the AMS 2 Pro if simplicity is what you’re looking for. Drying is an important factor, especially with PETG. Of course, you can also do this with other devices (see Amazon, etc.) or build/print your own drying boxes. For me personally, it was worth the money, as I now have storage and active drying in one device.
I’ve only been using the AMS 2 Pro myself for just under two months, so my experience is somewhat limited.
But if you want to make a decision and you have the money (40€), I would choose the AMS 2 Pro.

I agree with Salvadorus. I replaced my AMS devices with AMS 2 Pro’s. Love them, they give me less hassle and dry PETG well. They are easier to work on if you are unlucky and break a piece of filament in them. It’s not mentioned much but the filament inlets are upgraded (I believe ceramic) as well so you should get a slightly longer life out of the product, and they hold a tighter seal to keep filament dry longer if you don’t have an easy solution for storage.
If your budget is tight the regular AMS works well, the quality-of-life upgrades and drying capabilities on the PRO 2 in my opinion are a steal for the small price increase. If they ever get the ability to dry and print at the same time, I think many more people will start to recommend them.

For a long time I was very happy with my 2 original AMS (upgraded with filament savers and loads of dessiccant containers). When ordering the next printer, I had no choice but go for the AMS 2, thinking that the drying and the easier maintenance would be nice to have.
I was wrong though.
The AMS 2 Pro also have a lot more Oooomph!!!
Now, the original AMS feels like a compact car compared to a roadster

The ams pro 2 is great but remember that to have active drying and heating (while printer not in operation but powered on,) you will need the additional power supply adapter to make this work to its full potential, as the p2s doesn’t have enough supply power to the ams pro 2 for this operation. Only the h series can power the pro 2 without the adapter, but would still require one if additional pro 2 was introduced.

I can’t speak to the AMS, as I’ve not owned one. I purchased the P1S Combo with the AMS Pro 2 back in November 2025, and my only suggestion is to watch the wasted filament amounts from flushes and purges which can be scaled down considerably with a little time and trial and error testing, or read the Bambu Wiki article:
If you’re printing with one color out of the AMS 2 Pro and using the same filament for multiple prints, you can completely disable flushing and purging which happen at the end of the print sequence to save a considerable amount of filament as well.
