AMS permanently jams

Hi,
I received my X1C AMS Combo three days ago. The printer is fine, but the AMS jams every time when I print larger models for a longer time. It doesn’t matter what bay I use or what filament brand or type - after a couple of hours, the things jams and the print aborts with an error message.

It’s completely unreliable for me. When I bypass the AMS everything goes well. At this point, I would rather return the AMS than be frustrated with more failed prints after hours of printing…

I have been working with support for weeks trying to resolve my AMS issues. It appears that all the parts we throw at it aren’t helping. As the OP said the printer is great and so was my AMS when I first took delivery. After some time not so much. I really want and need this to work!

Yeah! I don’t think the problem is in the tool head. If the AMS jams, I can’t even pull the filament with my hand. I have to disassemble the whole thing to get the filament out. What strikes me is, that it happens after hours of printing. When I print small parts, it works, but with bigger parts, it jams after a couple of hours. It’s unusable for me. Idon’t really need multicolor printing, so I would rather like to return the AMS and keep the printer. Maybe in one or two years, the product is working and then I’ll buy one.
I opened a ticket for returning the AMS, but they did not answer yet.

I have a similar problem with my AMS for Bay 3. It jams quite often and I have to tug or pull VERY HARD to get the filament retracted back onto the spool. Looking for a solution is how I found this thread and sadly, there isn’t a solution here. :frowning:

I have the same problems. I found out, that it is easier to retract the material when you unload it - I could then pull it out easily.

Still it is a pity, that the AMS seems to be not very reliable, I hope there will be a solution in the near furture!

I had about the same problem. The problem was in the filament buffer. After disassembling it, I found that the rod can get stuck in one part and the command for AMS to deliver the filament does not come. I disassembled the buffer and there was a burr in the grey part that the slide part had jammed on at one point. I reground it and it has been quiet ever since.
